The Stuff Traditions Are Made Of

Ahhh, Labor Day.
The very end of summer, 100 degree heat, a day off from work, a whole heap of cousins plus some great friends, a spectacular parade followed by FREE Chick-fil-A...sounds like the stuff of traditions to me!

Just look at all of us lined up in good ol' G Town to catch the Labor Day Parade!
All the kids (big and small!) were super excited for the parade this year! Gigi and Papa camped out with the lawn chairs super early to secure us this prime location.

Mia, Ally, Nosy, Maddie, Clayton, O

We were still getting situated (read "passing out the donuts"!) when I got a call from my great friend, Chrys. She and her sweet fam joined us for the parade! We were one big, loud, enthusiastic bunch!

The guys manned the cooler, distributing refreshing drinks to sweaty kiddos.

The oh-so-handsome youngest cousin, Will

Owie's favorite part of the parade were the numerous marching bands, especially the brass section. Well, that and all the candy that was tossed our direction. He was allowed to eat as much as he could stomach. Yum!

Enjoying time with Daddy

Something special caught Oliver's eye! (I love Chrys's face in the background!)

It was incredibly hot and sticky, so when a float passed armed with water guns, Clayton begged to be squirted!

Maddie is the first cousin to be graced with a loose tooth. She and Papa worked on wiggling it during some down time.

What a great tradition! See ya' next year!
