Good Night, Gorilla

It's one of our all-time favorite board books. O enjoyed it during his toddler hood. Nosy is obsessed with it during his. We read it multiple times each day, always looking for new things in the pictures to discuss and pay attention to. It's such a sweet story with great illustrations and very little text, leaving us free to invent the dialogue.

Since gorilla and friends make up a part of each day, we decided to recreate the scene of the story: the zoo. We own almost all of the animals that have a role in the story (except for the hyena and armadillo...strange that Little People could have overlooked such common zoo animals!), either stuffed or plastic, so we constructed cages and tucked our animals in for the night. Owie was thrilled to discover that we even had a tiny zookeeper that was dressed almost exactly like the zookeeper in the story!

O read the story aloud to us while Nosy and I assisted the animals in acting it out. We had so much fun!

Here is a video of the Boys reading Good Night, Gorilla to me. I love how Noah says "gorilla"!
