Making a Splash

Last week, when the weather turned sultry and the days grew long and restless with sick Boys, we purchased a terrific wading pool. This thing came equipped with everything a kid could possibly want from a pool: a slide, a "deep end," a palm tree sprinkler, a fishing rod and a pair of fish begging to be caught, even an inflatable dolphin. Right away, I started huffing and puffing to inflate the pool. We could hardly wait!!

Early the next morning, the Boys and I started filling the pool so the water would be nice and tepid for an afternoon dip.
I love O's face in this pic as he giggles at Nosy flopped over the edge of the pool.

Testing the waters.

Once the Boys were up from their naps, we charged out to make a splash.

O's favorite part: running "super fast" and jumping in. Big drawback: He is not fond of grassy swimming water. I heard an awful lot of, "Please scoop the grass out, Mommy!"

No-nos' favorite part: snack time. Yummy grapes!

A few more favorite shots:

After dinner, an even more fun treat. Daddy donned his suit for a little splashing with his Boys.

By the way, two short days later, our pool mysteriously deflated, permanently. I have searched and searched for the hole to no avail. We are very sad. I feel that there is another shopping expedition to Walmart in our near future. Maybe a plastic pool this time? Owie eagerly suggested a great idea. We should buy a pool like Yaya's and Gigi's (in ground) at Walmart. Maybe next time, O!

did you seriously blow it up?! i was tired just from using the air compressor--that was a lot to inflate!
