Introducing "Duckie"!
He began hatching late last night.
When we woke up this morning...
Ta da!
Such a cute very hungry caterpillar.
O and I are learning all sorts of things about larvae and pupae, molting and chrysalises. What fun! We can't wait for "Chuckie" to emerge! (Names chosen affectionately by O.)
Addendum: Duckie is missing. I have searched every leaf of our milkweed and the entire contents of the container. I hope he is just bashful (we have been staring at him a lot) and has not gulp passed on. We have only made it 24 hours with our little guys!

oh no! i'll bet he's just hiding from you. before too long you'll be able to find him by following his droppings. (lovely, i know, but not nearly as gross as a toddler's diaper.)
