A "Fair"-ly Good Overview

Oh, The State Fair of Texas...one of my very favorite childhood memories and something I look forward to with great anticipation every Fall. It is even more enjoyable being able to watch my kids have fun. This year, we were joined by Jeremy's parents, Gigi and Papa, and Joel, Erica, Clayton and Oliver. We had a wonderful day!
Owen loved trying out the new cars. This was our first stop, and it was hard to convince O that there were many more fun things to see and do. We could hardly tear him away!

This was the best, cleanest petting zoo I have ever been in. They had baby zebras, a kangaroo and her joey, and a very large baby giraffe! Here Owie is feeding a baby bison.

Clayton and O are such great friends

Papa helped O to ride this tractor

Next, we headed to the Midway. Owie had never been on a ride before (outside of a carousel), so were unsure how he would react. This slide with Mom was just O's speed. We both had fun!

Owie picked the Kidway swings as his next ride. He was so brave to go all by himself. He had a blast, clapping and waving every time he went around.

This is the only picture I took of Baby Noah the whole day. Poor guy! He was very well-behaved and loved being outside all day. Here he is enjoying a few animal crackers, the best Fair food he got to sample this year. Next year, Buddy!

We were at the fair yesterday and I thought the exact same thing about that petting zoo! It was so nice and clean (for a building full of dirty animals) and I loved the variety of animals they had. We, however, missed the kangaroo and joey and I'm so sad about that--Oliver would have loved it b/c he has a story about a joey and he talks about it all the time.

Glad you guys had fun - I wish we had seen you there!
