Another Day at the DMA

First Tuesdays at the DMA are the best (and 100% free!). After Erica has heard me talk about them month after month, she, Oliver and Elliot were finally free to join us this time. The theme was "Costumes," so of course, my two sported their football outfits for the day.
Riding the train is always one of the highlights of the day!

We stumbled upon tons of fun things to do just walking from the train station to the museum. It was a gorgeous day, so we took our time and enjoyed watching the kids explore.

Our first stop at the museum was the craft room, where the kids created their very own unique costumes. Erica and I assisted the kids in choosing their own materials from the vast array of feathers, stickers, pipe cleaners, buttons, foamies, etc and then they went to town!

Elliot can't wait to be big so he can play too!

Nosy cut ever so many "patches" to glue on his costume.

Check out Oliver's outfit! Way to go!

Our costumes were definitely crafted by our kids on their own. As Erica and I looked around the room, it was amazing just how many Mommies had taken over and were creating very intricate outfits. I thought this was supposed to be for the kids!

Next stop: the play room.

O kept busy playing zoo keeper for quite awhile.

Oliver started building the longest train in the history of the world.

Nosy soon jumped in as Oliver's assistant. All three Boys played with this train, winding around people and furniture, making minor adjustments and improvements, for the longest time. Until a kid barfed all over it and his mom tried to place the blame on innocent Elliot. We scooted out of there after that.

Of course, we knew the cardboard boxes would be a popular item!

My Boys working together. I love to see that!

It's a good thing we can make our own fun, because the DMA was not nearly its stellar self this month. No live music or great theatrical stories. We'll give it another try in December.
When we realized we had 12 minutes to make the long journey to the train station to catch the next train home, we hustled out of there! Do you think the Boys have caught our sense of urgency?

Such good kids!
