A First Time to Bumbo

We tried out our very cool Bumbo seat for the first time today. Noah is not quite a proficient Bumbo-er yet. His head, full of a super-sized brain, is just so very heavy. We finally propped his head a little and it worked out just fine. He communicated to me (by spitting up down my sleeve) that he enjoyed his time in the Bumbo and will practice until he can Bumbo well.

Rub a Dub Dub

Both Kiddos love their baths!

Noah, seven weeks old
Look at those yummy chubby thighs and that round little belly. Our Noah is squeazably soft!

Owen loves tons of bubbles!

A Walk in Mansfield Park

The Boys and I headed to Mansfield on a beautiful day last week to hang out with Auntie LouLou. What a great time we had!
O got the privalege of holding Kirby's leash. I think it was the highlight of his week!

LouLou pushed Owen on the swing while I attempted to discretely nurse Noah on a park bench.

"O...Be-be" (with arms out-stretched)

Translation: "Can O please hold the baby?" Owen loves to love on Noah and requests to hold him often. After a few minutes of holding Noah this morning while I shot a couple of photos, he very adamantly declared, "Done!" I put down my camera and attempted to remove Noah from his grasp. "No! Mo Be-be!" He wasn't done holding Noah; he was done having his picture taken. Silly Boy! He kept holding Noah for 15 more minutes, whispering sweet nothings to him all the while. (It is amazing how much I can get done in 15 minutes when both kiddos are occupied and happy and sitting STILL on the couch!)

Dining with the Ducks

Let me introduce you to my wonderful, dear friend Elisabet. She has been one of my very best friends since Sophmore year at Mary Hardin-Baylor. We are so blessed to have her living just a mile down the road from us! One of my favorite things to do is spend an afternoon with Elis. The time flies by all too quickly, but we are so fortunate to get to see her often. Yesterday, we all headed off to feed the ducks at a near-by pond. What a gorgeous day!

O, having never fed ducks before, picked up on the sport quickly. He has quite an arm on him!

After awhile, I looked over and Owie was very slowly and discretely chewing. Hmmm. I observed him from a distance and noticed he was partaking of some bits of bread himself! A chunk for him. A chunk for "quack, quack." Pretty funny!

Winter Wonderland

These are shots from last week's beautiful snowfall. Let me explain the get-up...O has been on antibiotics for an ear infection which in turn gave him a pretty messy diaper issue, if you know what I mean. (Yuck!) This particualr afternoon, we had already dirtied two outfits, so I resorted to pajamas. Plus, it kept him nice and cozy on such a dreary day. Mid-afternoon, the huge, gorgeous flakes started to drift down from the sky. We just had to get outside to enjoy the snow! Alas, O's tennies would not fit over his footie pj's. So on went Mom's warmest, most fuzzy socks and hand-me-down slippers from Ally and Maddie. Those were some toasty toes! He was really concerned about the socks getting wet, though. He knew there was something not quite right about that!

Noah Updates

5 weeks old
6 weeks old
Today he did two little half smiles. Of course, my camera was out of reach. I think full on grins are not going to be too far behind. I can't wait!

A Celebration of O: Round 2

Owen is totally in to the Wiggles these days. Julianne told us about the Wiggles Play Center in Frisco, a place every Wiggles-obsessed kid must frequent. All the Halpin cousins met there to play and to stretch Owen's Birthday celebration out just a bit more.

Up so high! I was worried O would get stuck up in those tunnels, but Ally, Maddie and Clayton kept an eye on him for me. Such sweet cousins!

"Look, Mommy! It's Anthony Wiggle!" (Mom's personal favorite Wiggle. It's pretty sad when I catch myself singing Wiggles songs in my head throughout the day!)

Julianne and Mia enjoy a Birthday cookie

Big hugs for Oliver. His Birthday is up next!

Noah was such a good baby

A Celebration of O: Round 1

To celebrate O's birth, we had a family basketball party. We gave him a basketball goal, enjoyed stadium food (nachos, corny dogs), and each party animal left with his own basketball. It is safe to say that fun was had by all!

Owie sampled the "gum" (fruit snacks) before the party got underway

Gramps and Yaya gave Owen a tricycle. He relished being pushed around by the Big Boys. It won't be too long before he can get around on it by himself!

A sweet moment between Mimi and Noah

Daddy had a lot of fun with those mini basketballs. He almost hated to part with them!
There is no doubt Owen is my kid! He inherited my insatiable sweet tooth. That boy can pack away the cake like nobody's buisness!

Two Reasons Worth Celebrating!

On January 21, Owen turned TWO and Noah turned 1 month old. My Boys are growing up so fast!! They enjoyed some early morning snuggle time.

Another Week Gone By

The days are passing by so quickly! Jeremy headed back to work this week, so it was just me and my Boys. We survived just fine. I'm going to love being a Mom of two!

Owen and Noah spend some time chatting. O loves to lay next to his brother!

Noah's cord finally fell off, so I could dunk him in the tub for a thorough cleaning. He didn't mind it nearly as much as he did his sponge baths prior to this. (Sorry about the privates showing. I should have strategically placed a washcloth. Oh well.)

The O and I baked a very yummy cake together.

Three weeks old today!

We love quiet, alert time. Noah is usually awake from 7:00-9:00 in the morning for a good, long play time. We are really getting to know his sweet personality.

My Busy Boys

I have been so abundantly blessed with the privilege of living life with my three favorite people: Jeremy, Owen and Noah. What busy boys they are! Here's a little of what they have been up to...

Checking on "Be-be." Owen can often be found standing on his stool next to the bassinet giving Noah some love. (Noah is sun-bathing to get rid of his jaundice, in case you were wondering why the nakedness.)

Dad and Owie are "camping." You might notice O's new tool kit. Wherever The O goes these days, his tool kit is at his side!

Jeremy ushered in his 30th Birthday (along with Joel, of course) while "dominating" at whirlyball. J is right in the middle of this photo in the striped shirt.

"Cheese!"

Kisses for brother. Owen has bonded so well with Tiny Noah, giving him love (often in the form of high fives) whenever possible.

Celebrating the Longhorn victory at the Alamo Bowl with Gigi

It may be mistaken for a look of sheer terror, but Owen loves the thrill of his new slide!

Two weeks old already! Time flies!

Our first family outing to the park. Cozy Noah slept the whole time!

A really fun and unexpected result of bringing home a new brother has been O's "language explosion." His vocabulary has more than doubled since Noah's arrival. I guess he figures he needs to speak up to be heard these days! It thrills my heart to hear his little voice expressing his thoughts (and more often his wants). His Speech Therapist is going to be so pleased!
