Easter Photos: Take One

The Boys and I headed to the Arboretum today to attempt to get a great Easter picture. We packed the stroller full of Easter baskets, eggs, Bumbo seat and plenty of fruit snacks ("gum" to Owie) to ensure a trouble-free photo shoot. Here are the results:

One half-way decent, although squinty and slouchy, picture of the boys together.

The kissy picture always warms a mother's heart.

He looks so sweet, doesn't he? Little did I know that at this moment he was filling not only his pants, but the Bumbo seat as well, with poo. Fun times.

Looks like O has discovered the gum-filled eggs, much to his delight!

Now where could those eggs be hiding?

Can we throw eggs? They look an awful lot like balls, Mom.

Like Mother, Like Son?

Do we have a thumb-sucker? I sucked mine until I was nine. Not something I am proud of, but I know the comforting power of a little "thumb juice."

Squeaky Clean

My Brother's Keeper

I heard Noah crying from the bathroom where I was getting ready for church. I came out to find sweet Owen patting Noah's bum to soothe him. "Mommy com-ing, No-ah."

Carefree

We had such a relaxing, sunny Sunday afternoon. While Noah and Daddy napped, Owie and I headed out to soak up some rays.

We love sidewalk chalk!! What could be better than an artistic outlet that can be done outside? As an added bonus, our fingers turn really pretty colors!

I took these shots using the sports setting on my camera. O could run up and down the sidewalk all day long just for the sheer enjoyment! He has such endless, boundless energy that leaves me exhausted just watching him!

Look who Slept Through the Night!

Fed at 9:00pm. Slept until 5:15am! What great moods we are both in after all that sleep!

Scooter is Three Months Old!

The cutest little Bumbo-er ever!

So happy!

Owen's First Day of "Chool"

We recently became members at the Science Place because they have a great Children's Museum. Another perk: a Mommy and Me Preschool on Wednesdays. Yesterday was O's first day, and what a time we had!!

It was "Hilarious Hat Day," so O wore his Captain Feathersword hat from Aunt Ju.

During "circle time" we learned about the hand sign for W, the color blue, and diamonds. Then we got to listen to a story. O is listening very intently in this picture. What a good student!

Next came craft time! All the kids got to create silly hats with paints, stickers, glitter, streamers, stamps...everything Owie's creative little heart could desire. Such concentration!

We couldn't leave the museum without hitting the water table. O and his friend Wesley had a grand ol' time scooping water!

The Quest

I am always in the quest for the perfect picture: One that captures both Boys' personalities and their best smiles. That picture of perfection is always just out of reach, but that doesn't mean I won't keep trying. Perseverance and all that...

Are we done yet?

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's Off to Work We Go

Working together builds character. Responsibilities, contributing to the household, lead to busy hands and happy hearts. Thus, my two year old son has a few chores around the house. It is fun when we work hard together, and it leaves us more time to play when the jobs are done!

One of Owen's jobs is to deliver the socks Mommy has folded to the appropriate rooms. It is fun to carry socks in a bucket! We sing a marching song while we put away the laundry: "Marching, marching to put away the socks!"

O loves to help unload and put away his "cuppies" and silverware. He know just where they all belong!

Dusting with Mommy is not quite as fun, even when Owie gets his very own dust cloth. But being the obedient boy he is, he still helps me cheerfully.

What a wonderful helper Owen is!! I am so proud of him!

The Dallas Children's Museum

It was such great fun for Ashley and me to watch our Boys explore the Dallas Children's Museum today. What a wonderful way to learn about this awesome world God created for our enjoyment!

Turner and Owen learn about floating things. They also learned (the hard way) not to splash our friends.
O quickly mastered the life-sized tinker toys. "Biiiig stick in ho(le)!"

Is this a future farmer in the making? One of Owie's favorite parts of the day was milking the "moo." Water came out of the udder if you squeezed it just right. Fascinating!

The Springs Movie Night

Our church, the Springs, hosted a movie night on Saturday. We had a bounce house, picnincs on a blanket and a Disney movie in the park. Great idea, Joel, and what a great turn-out we had! Here is our Fam enjoying the movie and huddling up against the chill.

A Friday Well Spent

We had a great day with Gigi last Friday!
Gigi and my preppie Boys

Owen waited all morning to ride the "neigh." Finally, his wish was granted.

4am

Noah is never cuter, sweeter, more talkative than in the wee hours of the morning, when I am the only one to witness it. What a blessing from the Lord these precious moments are! One tiny grin from this sweet baby and all the tiredness (from the other 13 times I have already been up!) is wiped away. Thank you, Lord, for the delight of these priceless smiles!

JUMP!

We celebrated Clayton's fourth Birthday at Jump Town last weekend. O had so much fun in
the bounce houses and on the slides!

Give Me Happy...Pensive...Chatty

Some of the many moods of Noah

Smiley Noah. All these pictures were taken in the middle of the night, Noah's most smiley time of day. As you can see, he clearly enjoys being swaddled still.

Whatever could he be pondering? Such deep thoughts.

Such sweet coos and gurgles. Noah has a lot to say!
